I am highlighting the seeds of a plant species on Saturdays that I am calling Seed Saturday!
This Saturday's feature is Asimina triloba, Paw Paw. Family Annonaceae.
Seed Information: The seed is found in fruit that humans can eat. The seeds are large and smooth, yet could be easily swallowed allowing mammals to distribute the seeds.
Seed Description: The seeds are brown with a smooth seed coat. The seeds are too large to be viewed under a dissecting microscope.
Seeds were viewed using a dissecting microscope with magnification of 10x and 40x. Ruler marks are in millimeters (mm, metric system).
