Seed Saturday 11: Drosera brevifolia

I am highlighting the seeds of a plant species on Saturdays that I am calling Seed Saturday!

This Saturday's feature is Drosera brevifolia, Dwarf Sundew. Family Droseraceae.

Seed Information: The flower stalks rise above the plant of this carnivorous species, perhaps to keep from eating the pollinators. The flower stalks have hairs on them, easily seen with 10x magnification hand lens, loupe.

Seed Description: The seeds are small and black. The seeds have an appearance of having many small pits or dots around the seed.

Seeds were viewed using a dissecting microscope with magnification of 10x and 40x. Ruler marks are in millimeters (mm, metric system).
