I am highlighting the seeds of a plant species on Saturdays that I am calling Seed Saturday!
This Saturday's feature is Drosera tracyi, Threadleaf Sundew. Family Droseraceae.
Seed Information: The flower stalks rise above the plant of this carnivorous species, perhaps to keep from eating the pollinators. The leaves of this plant are sticky all around.
Seed Description: The seeds are black. The seeds appear tapered at each end. The seed look as if they have little nobs all over them.
Seeds were viewed using a dissecting microscope with magnification of 10x and 40x. Ruler marks are in millimeters (mm, metric system).
