I am highlighting the seeds of a plant species on Saturdays that I am calling Seed Saturday!
This Saturday's feature is Rhexia alifanus, Savanna Meadow Beauty. Family Melastomataceae.
Seed Information: The seeds are found within a vase shaped fruit. When mature, the seeds can be poured out of this vase.
Seed Description: The seeds are brown. The seeds are some pyramidal shape. This shape is different from other species in the genus, from my experience.
Seeds were viewed using a dissecting microscope with magnification of 10x and 40x. Ruler marks are in millimeters (mm, metric system).
